30 players. 15 buggies. 127 lost balls.

The final game of the season at Alicante Golf Course was fittingly attended by our
biggest group of the year. Clearly the threat of fines for no shows deterred the last
minute cancellers.

Fundamental to any study of historical association is the relationship between the
genealogies of members of the association. In one sense this is analogous to the
problem in systematics of inferring the history of character change on a tree.

(Sic. Tree Trivia – Canada Tree Foundation) The above paragraph is total balderdash,
but the golf was better.

Ken Jacques was the years most improved golfer and came back with a magnificent
37 points. Well-done Ken!

Gill Ayrton produced a flowing 38 points and was easily our best lady of the day.

Charles Ninov carded 39 points for 2nd place but the overall winner of the day was
Chris Salter with 42 points. Chris won a months membership at El Plantio Golf, Charles
won vouchers for Alicante golf and Andy won the biggest bottle of Rioja - compliments
to Marife and her team at Alicante Golf

Our esteemed organizer and pro, Gary Stone, should be congratulated for his
exceptional efforts in co-coordinating and booking the venues for our enjoyment. He
even endured a taxing round at Hacienda del Alamo scouting for a new course for the
annual away trip only to discover that it would not be suitable. Somebody had to do it!

White Coast Golf has been invited to join the Costa Blanca League for the coming
season. We warmly embrace the invitation and Joe Schulein is now captain. I’m sure
we’ll all get a lot of pleasure from this.

We are without doubt a fantastic collection of personalities in White Coast Golf and
our laid backing approach to life and golf makes us a unique society. If Guinness did
societies this would be us!

Have a good summer break our first game of the new season is Sept 12th at Real de
Faula. See you all there !!
