La Sella, October, 2007
Sponsored by Yoga Breaks Spain
Your roving reporter is writing this
from his desk in London having just played the
RAC in Epsom in very dull and cloudy conditions. I
am happy to report that the
weather at La Sella was better. The course was great
as was Raymond who is ever
obliging.
The news of the best society in Spain is spreading
and we now have a member from
Texas who flew in directly for our Texas Scramble
at La Sella although I am led to
believe that the game is known as Spanish Revuelta
over there. The next scramble
will be an Idaho where the worst drive is taken. Followed
by an Irish Scramble where
we play backwards from the hole to the tee.
Once again the hardest working pro
on the Costas had the longest drive on the 4th
only this time he was showing off as he did it one
handed. Is there no end to the
talent? Watch out Bill the Burglar we know where you
live!!
Tim ‘Benidorm’ Baish and his guest
Mike Davies were seen trying to murder the group
in front with drives akin to exocets. This is not
a bad idea, however you could have
seriously injured Mira Queen of Spain who incidentally
raised an amazing €700 euros
for her charity Run for Life. Thanks to all members
who contributed. The lines are
open to the general public so dig deep and send us
your money!
Well-done Mike Ayrton, banker
to the stars, and Alan Evans for nearest to the pins.

picture show's the new texan
member and 'friends'
Winners this week were Mike O’Reilly,
John Forbes (Again? This is getting
embarrassing) and Ray Garbutt with a net 61.9 There
was no sign of the Hooters
unfortunately and The Serbian Billionaire Ceda decided
to spend the day in bed with
Michael Parkinson…that’s what he claims anyway.
Sooner or later WCGS will get the
global recognition it deserves and invites to the
World Match play are in the offing.
My next column will come from
the sunny beaches of Melbourne! Adios Amigos.
