Cheap as Chips

If you look at the Campbell Lamont website and his green fee price list for May, you will see that a green fee should be €90, and a buggy €50. Our prices (before adjustment for prizes etc) were €70 and €40. Didn't feel like it, but we got a bargain. Played in summer sunshine, cheap as chips. Yeh, right.

However, it brought out the best in people, and it made some people do what they hadn't done for years. Walk. It was a struggle but everyone made it, some looking more worse for wear then others but, fair play to all, and thanks.

Here's a summary of the results:

Winners

Overall.

Gary Stone - 38 points.

Division 1.

Winner. Gary Stone - 38 points.

Runner Up. Dave Smith - 35 points.

Division 2.

Winner. Viv Bacon - 37 points.

Runner Up. Peter Dymyd - 34 points.

NP's

Hole 4. Edwin van Ravenswoud. It was intended to be NP in 3 on a par 5. Edwin was NP after 2! Eagle? No, his putt finished further away from the hole than Gary's 3rd (nearly, but not quite)

Hole 14. Ben Wilcock. Birdie?? No. Tricky green. (Poster Boy did, just saying)

LBS

Unbelievable. Double rollover. €72 in the kitty. The range of numbers selected went from 28 to 54 with just one gap. 29. Number of lost balls! 29. Triple rollover at La Sella. The number of players for that game went up by one immediately after this news.

CBKO

There was one round of 16 match played on the day. It was the Game 2 match between Christoph Dünwald & Dave Smith.

These guys were close on playing handicap. Just one shot to be given, in favour of Dave. It was all square at the 9th, so it was close, as expected. But then??? That's golf Christoph. A win for Dave Smith 4&3.

It will be Derby v Sunderland in the next round.
