Down the local!

For some. For most, a trip into the Valencian Province, home of Valenciano, Rice, Oranges and Paella. It's ever so slightly different. The golf should be the same though, right. For a select few, the trip will be worth the effort. For the rest, it will be either too difficult, or too hot. So, who would enjoy "that stretch" of the N332 the most?
Our winner was the local boy, who knows 'that stretch' of the N332 quite well. No early start, or long journey, either. Left the house at 9.00, arrived at 9.05. He wasn't quite on top form health wise, but he was hoping to benefit by playing as a Member's Guest for the first time.
Whether it was the virus that altered his swing, or the €5 discount off the green fee for being a Member's Guest that did the trick, we shall never know. What we do know is that his putting was inspired. It was as if his ball was being laser guided into the hole, from anywhere, any distance. However it came about, 41 pints, down the local, was not a bad day out.

Full results as follows;
Overall winner
Martin Oddy - 41 points.
Division 1

Runner Up. Pankaj Bakshi - 37 points
Division 2

Hole 3. Wayne Stallings, straight as an arrow, ball landing just 8 yards past. Got his birdie on the way back.
Hole 16. Dave Smith, in the final group, hit the best shot here, to edge out the local boy. Birdie? Never in doubt.
LBS
Dave Lesbirel is up on tech as we all know. Whether it be gizmos, gadgets, sat-navs etc, he's on it. He saw the formula for the sweep, put it into ChatBBC, which gave him the answer 54. He put that down, then told his mate that he would win with 54 and why he was so confident. His mate told him it wasn't ChatBBC, it was ChatGPT. Ah. Dave put the formula into ChatGPT which gave him the correct answer of 66. 66 was still available, so he found another €1 and put his name down again. A €28 win. Thanks mate.
Back inside the clubhouse, everyone had the chance to cool down, and reflect. Our Captain did his usual fine job announcing the results and winners, then reminded us of upcoming important dates, particularly the date of the end of year awards dinner. He stressed again that very few excuses for non-attendance will be accepted. Be warned.

Licence to Play
We expect Members to obtain the appropriate Federated Licence valid in Spain. This licence grants permission to play on all the Courses on our schedule and includes the liability and accident insurance required by Royal Decree 849/1993.
As a general guide, resident Members should be looking to obtain an Annual Licence with handicap from their corresponding Spanish Regional Federation. In the Valencia Region the cost is €105.70. There is a one off joining fee of €15.
Non resident Members can also obtain an Annual Licence if they wish. If not, they should purchase a One Day Licence at each course which affiliates them to the Federation for that day's play. A One Day Licence costs €2.
