Thank you Mr. President.

President Gary put on a bit of a show for us at Bonalba. He had lots of things lined up to make the day just that little bit special. Like, additional NP prizes on all par 3's, and NP prizes with second and third shots on selected par 4's and 5's. For these, he introduced two new sponsors. JP Window Cleaning sponsored holes 4, 8, 11 and 14. Toldos Alchemy sponsored holes 3 and 16. Details of these companies are at the end of this report.

Aside from rewarding us for amazing golf shots, he wanted to put our general knowledge to the test. And finally, he wanted us to be aware of ourselves, our wellbeing, and our personal space. What was this all about. We were about to find out.

Before the golf, we were told to find out as much about the Committee Members as we could. There would be a quiz at the end of the round. We were also introduced to a green peg, and were told that whoever had that fixed to them at the end of the round, that person would have to buy President Gary, a tot of Macallan 12 year old.

And so the day began. The first thing was to attach the green peg to a player in a procedure known as a pegoloscopy. Painless procedure, no pain. During the round, bit like a virus, the peg would be passed on, unless precautions were taken. At the end of the round, the peg would be fixed firmly and permanently to a player in a procedure known as pegendectomy. The player having had the pegendectomy, would be the player buying the Macallan.

Here's how it all panned out.

NP's sponsored by JP Window Cleaning

Hole 8. Ray Gambrill.

Hole 11. Nobody hit the green.

Hole 2. NP with third shot. Simon Parry.

Know your Committee quiz

There were questions relating to football teams, nicknames, sporting achievements, previous employment, criminal records, and social preferences. Perhaps the most surprising thing to discover was that we actually have a Derby supporter on the Committee who goes by the nickname of "Thelma". Not surprisingly, a Committee Member knew most of the answers and, not surprisingly again, it was Captain Jordan who knew them all.

Pegendectomy

The person having the pegendectomy was Peter Wilczynski. He didn't take precautions as he went round, and he's a Doctor ffs. Peter doesn't appear in the picture below because he had already gone to hospital to have the peg removed in a procedure know as pegamputation

Our overall winner prize was a €50 voucher sponsored, once again, by Fishy Fishy. A big shout out for Craig Longstaff for his support and generosity.

LBS

Pankaj Bakshi crunched the numbers correctly again. 47 was the number we were looking for. Maybe Pankaj is just good at remembering previous results. There is an emerging trend. 53, 49, 46, and now 47. However he did it, he walked off with €25.

Licence to Play

We expect Members to obtain the appropriate Federated Licence valid in Spain. This licence grants permission to play on all the Courses on our schedule and includes the liability and accident insurance required by Royal Decree 849/1993.

As a general guide, resident Members should be looking to obtain an Annual Licence with handicap from their corresponding Spanish Regional Federation. In the Valencia Region the cost is €105.70. There is a one off joining fee of €12.

Non resident Members can also obtain an Annual Licence if they wish. If not, they should purchase a One Day Licence at each course which affiliates them to the Federation for that day's play. A One Day Licence costs €2.

Sounds like a great event, sorry I couldn't be there. Gary and Martin at the White House has to be better than the current occupants 😊😊
