Coming Up in September
The second half of our 2026 season is about to get underway. Here's a quick summary of games coming up in September.
El Plantío. 9th September.
Individual Stableford handicap and POTY qualifier. We are currently 22 including one prospective new member, Louie Swift (a youngster!) (and a Yorkshire Boy). Please make him feel welcome. The four quarter final matches of our knock out competition will also be played. Details of that competition are below. Click on the file.
Captain's Day. Alenda. 16th September.
A bit of fun. Ryder Cup style fourball matchplay competition. USA v Europe. Bubba Stallings to Captain the USA team. MethOddycal Oddy to Captain the European team. We have our full complement of 24, so 6 matches to be played. 1 point for a win. Half point for A/S. Aside from the Captains, players will be selected to represent one or other of the two teams. This will be a random selection using AI making sure the aggregate handicaps are balanced. The two Captains will then select their pairs, ready for combat. Who will lift the new Captain's Trophy?
Costa Blanca League. Round 5 v Orba. Bonalba. 25th September.
We are currently sitting in third place on 19 points, 6 points adrift of the leaders. We are playing Orba Warblers who are one place behind us with 16 points. Our League Captain, Christoph, is busy putting his team together now. We can still reach top spot and retain the trophy. Come on!
El Bosque. 30th September.
You can pre-register for this game now. Please RSVP via our Spaces App if you haven't already. This will be our last visit to this course for the forseeable so, if you want to play it, put your name down now. They are discouraging Societies to use the course at the moment, so we have not included it on our Schedule for 2027. Shame, but it is what it is. We will be back to playing an individual stableford handicap and POTY qualifier.
