Our final game of the 2025 season was a team game, organised and managed by Captain Jordan in his usual inimitable style. It seemed quite complicated, but he explained the scoring process to make it easy, especially for ghosts. The most confusing bit was whether there were NP's on all par 3's, per the start sheet, or just on holes 12 and 14. Nonetheless, the day went very well in glorious warm sunshine. What a way to end the season. Here are the results:

1st. Oddy/Wilcock/Harrison/Benzler - 101

2nd. Duffy/Ghost/Dünwald/Price - 92

3rd. Holgate/StoneR/Carr/Westerman - 92

4th. Bowers/Stallings/Lawson/Miller - 88

5th. Longstaff/Woodcock/Gambrill/Dymyd

6th. StoneG/Ghostly Hedges/Bakshi/Parry - 76

Prizes a plenty for the winners, including a box of balls (Srixon!) and Guv'Nor wine for Christmas.

NP's

Even though Paul Harison put down a scrappy piece of paper on hole 3 (he was close), it turned out only two NP's would count:

Hole 12. Andy Price.

Hole 14. Roger (you can do it from the yellows) Miller

LBS

It turned out the wrong formula was on the sheet. It was the formula from Alenda, so everyone got it wrong. 27 was the answer. We were all way out. Ray Gambrill was the closest with 35. So, a rollover for the first game of 2026. But, there is a ghostly mystery. 27 names down, only €25 in the box. Who owes the sweeper??

it came out at the AGM that followed, that Captain Jordan is going to relinquish his secretarial duties, so that he can concentrate on his Captaincy and his comedy routines. So, it turned out that this was the last Competition he would be organising for us.

It was a fitting way to step back. Thank you Captain Jordan for all your hard work with god knows how many competitions you have organised during your tenure. We all appreciate your hard work and dedication, and we look forward to seeing a relaxed Captain in 2026, and more polished routines.

The baton has been passed. Brave new world.

Licence to Play

At this point we would normally include the standard blurb about joining the Spanish Federation. But, instead. here's a quick update of where we stand for 2026.

Based on the last analysis of Members at the beginning of December 2025, below is the anticipated 2026 profile, viz a viz Federation status.

White Coast Federated - 24 Members

Levante Federated - 13 Members

Home Club Federated - 7 Members

Which means, nearly all our Members (92%), will be "sound", licence and handicap wise. It also means that, in our brave new world, the 24 White Coast Federated Members, will join our Home Club players, and have ONE up to date, official, WHS Handicap.

Viv Bacon is now our Federation Secretary (aka The Fed), and she is currently working hard with 10 Members to get their applications in and processed ready for 2026. She will also be ready to help our Captain get prospective new members "sound" if needs be.

On behalf of The Committee, thank you all for your support and commitment to making our Society "sound". It is much appreciated.

Have a great Christmas, and all the best for 2026.
