Our end of year awards dinner was held, once again, at Costa Marco on Saturday 29th November. It was another great night and, as ever, a fitting way to end the competitive year. We have to thank, again, all the staff at Costa Marco who provided us with such excellent service. Mat Mason for keeping the mood at just the right level. And, finally, thanks to Anna and Viv for extracting every last € towards the raffle and donation. As a result of their very fine efforts, we had €290 left in the kitty. The Society matched this sum which means we will donate €580 to the MABS Cancer Support Foundation.
We would have thanked Brett Hanson and his wife Martina for being Guests of Honour, and Blevins Franks for their continued support and sponsorship, but we weren't able to. Brett and his family had succumbed to the dreaded lurgy.
Our Captain did an amazing job with the overall organisation and with the awards ceremony after the meal. He kept to his script, despite there being some notable absentees. He just emphasised those bits of his script that included references to the very important people that weren't there. Or, who had gone!
And so to our winners.
