New Procedures for 2026

As you know, we are looking to improve the way we do things in 2026. Our goal is to make things better for you, and for us. So, please take time to read, and understand, the points below. These are the new procedures we will be asking you to follow.

Before the Game
Pre-Registration
Pre-register via the Spaces App as now
Game will open in the App 3 weeks before the game
Game will close at 4pm on the Sunday before the game
RSVP early to make sure of your place
RSVP no, if you are not playing.
Pre-registration is important so that we can guage numbers in good time before the game Our green fee prices are based on a certain number of players. We need time to negotiate/re-negotiate if necessary.
You can pre-register for our game at Levante on the 7th January 2026 now, if you haven't already.
Registration & Payment. New Procedure.
Registration and Payment is via GolfDirecto. We will direct you to the registration pages for each competition. Follow the instructions below:
Android users. Use the link in the the Spaces App. Go to the Game Event Details Page. Scroll down to "About the Event. Follow the instructions. Click "Show more" for full instructions.
iPhone users, we will set up a WhatsApp Group for you, and provide the link there.
Alternatively, everyone can register from our website.
Registration will open on the Monday, 10 days before the game.
We will send a notification, to let you know that registration is open. Look out for the notification, but don't wait for it.
Register and pay, if you can, sometime between Monday to Friday. The earlier the better.
Registration will close at 5pm on the Sunday before the game.
Use your Federation Licence if your Federation handicap is up to date. Otherwise register as Unlicensed and enter your most active handicap.
You will receive an email confirmation of your registration and payment.
The confirmation contains the cancellation button if you need to cancel. Click "ver reserva". You will get an automatic refund if you cancel before 4pm on the Sunday before the game.
Take a look at the Events Details page of our 7th January Levante game, to become familiar with the above. Registration and Payment opens for that game at 9am on the 29th December 2025.
We are hoping that most people will take advantage of this online payment option. It will make things easier for us, and it will reduce the amount of cash at risk. However, it is not compulsory. If you do not register and pay online, we will still enter you into the competition.
Electronic Cards
Will be sent out on the Tuesday before the game.
Will show start time, playing group, handicap index and playing handicap.
Cards will be activated 2 hours before the start of the game.
On the Day
Meet Time
45 mins before our first tee-time. The meet time is shown towards the top of the Event Details page in the Spaces App. It's very important that we respect this tradition.
Start Sheet
Available to view on the day.
Will include NP information.
Will highlight buggy people so they can organise keys and partners.
Paper Cards
Blank cards will be made available for normal personal use. Your start time and handicap information is in your electronic card.
THE Card
We will nominate one person in each group to mark THE Card (paper)
This card will be for all the players in the group.
Gross scores only to be marked.
This is THE card to be used to add scores to the electronic scoreboard
Scoring
The person nominated above will mark the scores for all players in the group. They will use THE Card to add all scores to their electronic scorecard. This can be done during the round, or immediately afterwards, whichever they prefer. The scores should be checked and signed off by another member of the group. In the event of any dispute THE Card will prevail.
Other players in the group do not need to add scores to their electronic card.
Once all scores have been entered on to the electronic card and checked, the electronic card can be finalised and validated.
THE Card can then be handed to the Competitions Secretary for a final check of the scores before results can be announced.
Results
The results in the system will be checked against THE Card before final results are announced.
After the results have been announced, they will be made public.
This means they will be available to view in your electronic scorecard, and in the GolfDirecto App if you have it.
Handicaps
White Coast will not be managing handicaps in 2026.
The vast majority of our "active" Members will have their handicaps managed by the Federation, their Home Club, or another Society.
Scores for Federated players will be sent to The Federation immediately after each game, and handicaps will be updated.
Other players will have a record of their score in their electronic scorecard, or the GolfDirecto App, to take back to their Home Club or Society as they wish.
GolfDirecto App
Contains all the information you need about your golf with us.
Current handicap and Licence Number, if Federated.
Your tournaments, finished and scheduled.
Players, Schedules, Cards and Results.
It's a must have app if you like to know what's going on. Download from your store.
It all looks a bit daunting but we have been testing the new GolfDirecto system, and the Registration and Payment process over the last 6/7 games. A lot of people have registered and paid on line, a lot of people have tried out live and electronic scoring, and it seems to have gone down well. There is an issue with the Spaces App and Apple in app purchases. Some of you will know this. The work around is to provide the link that iPhone users need in a WhatsApp message. We will do it this way.
If we all follow the steps above, then our brave new world will be bigger, and better.
