Sun hats and shorts

  • Apr 16

Two weeks ago we were teeing off in bobble hats and shorts. Today, at El Plantío, it was sun hats and shorts. What a difference. Perefect day for golf, course in great condition, lovely setting on the terrace. What could possibly go wrong!

Here's a summary of the results:

NP's

Hole 9. Ben Wilcock (par 3) (half a ball closer than Roger J) (birdie, no)

Hole 16. Gary Stone (second shot par 4) (birdie, si,señor)

LBS

With €40 in the kitty from FDL and €22 added to it on the day, the person who worked it out, would be walking away with his/her green fee paid! 47 was the number we were looking for and Tony Bowers had it all figured.

CBKO

The round of 16 match between Viv Bacon and Paul Harrison was replayed. Remember, it finished a/s at FDL

This time, Viv beat Paul 4&3. Congratulations and commiserations in equal measure.

Coming up

Our next league game is against Denia at El Bosque on Thursday 23rd April. KC Christoph has battled with re-scheduling and has still managed to put a formidable team together. Thanks to all the squaddies that stepped up.

Back on the terrace, we acknowledged the contribution made by Nick Austin's three guests, Brian Overton (overall 2nd with 37 points), Simon Clews (overall 3rd with 36 points) and Simon Freemantle (11 lost balls).

And KC Christoph updated us on his plans to secure 8 points at El Bosque next week.

Our next Society game is at Bonalba on Wednesday 29th April. It's a pay on the day course. Registration only, via GolfDirecto, is open now. It closes on Sunday 26th April at 17.00. Please register as soon as you can. This will help our Competitions Secretary immensely, and it will save us having to chase or remind, bothering you, bothering us! Thanks in advance.
